Two newbie questions

   On my 2013 rp177 the only way to drain the water heater is via anode rod removal, and it is socket size 1 1/16".  
 Vent the pressure and make sure it is fully turned off and not hot before removal, and still use caution and stand to the side when removing the anode.   My hot and cold drain lines only drain supply lines above them, not the water heater.  On my unit they are adjacent to the water heater behind the fender.

	I just disconnect the positive lead to the battery when storing the pod so the battery doesn't go kaput. I learned the hard way that the LP sensor and inverter electric draw will kill a battery in a few days.

	You can get a cheap socket at Harbor Freight for a few bucks that will hold up for that purpose a long time. It is a quick way to dump the hot water, and make sure the electric element is OFF.

	Underneath your Pod you will find the low point drains, there should be one for the cold and hot both on a newer Pod. Be sure you don't leave the electric element turned off if you choose to drain the tank. The anode rod socket needed is 1 1/16th Many do install battery cut off switches. One brand that I've seen used a lot is called HELLA and is on Amazon.

	I have a couple of questions: 1) Is there a drain for the water heater? I don't have a big enough socket to pull the anode. BTW what size is that puppy? I have not removed the cover over the element. Is there a drain plug there? 2) Have you installed a battery cut switch, or do you just disconnect the NEG terminal? Is there a preferred switch? Thanks...Dave
