bodie55 . . .

Here are a few campgrounds you may want to research in the Truckee/Tahoe area.

So. Lake Tahoe Area:
Nevada Beach & Campground, Zephyr Cove Resort, Tahoe Valley Campground and Camp Richardson. They are all good but we enjoyed NV Beach but reservations are difficult to get.

Truckee area:
Coachland RV Park, we never stayed there but it's where we dumped our tanks and purchased propane locally. If your up for "dry camping" check out Prosser Reservoir, Lakeside campground in the Tahoe Nat. Forest, just a few miles north of Truckee. If you really want to get back into the Sierra's I'd recommend Jackson Meadows, east meadows camp ground, about 33 miles N of Truckee.

There are also many RE Parks in the Reno/Carson City area but we enjoyed the KOA at Boomtown Hotel & Casino (right on I80 west of Reno)with full utilities and an outdoor pool.

Keep in touch with your plans!
Dusty

I may have to pick your brain in the future for Sierra spots. We have access to a family cabin in Tahoe, but want to explore the region more now that we can sleep safely (or safer) and not have our kids worry about the coyotes and bears at night.

The ENT is on the wardrobe wall inside the bed area, has a swivel arm so it could swing out in front of the wardrobe a bit to viewed from the couch.

We took delivery of our 178 in late November and appreciate the amount of storage space it has compared to the older 173 that we traded in.  Other than that, what I like best is the entertainment center's location.  The television can be swung and swiveled so it can be watched from the rear queen-size bed in the rear as well as the U-shaped dinette in front.

True, the 179 may have more storage and a larger kitchen area, but those are no longer that important to us as they would have been in our earlier years.  I have studied the photos and floor plan for the 179, but I have not seen where the entertainment center, if one, is located.

178 vs 179?  I think it is a matter of personal preference.

We bought our 178 in October, but really wish we had the option of the 179. I really like the look of the set up and storage space of the 179.

Looks like a nice floor plan but it still has the worlds smallest bathroom.

The 179 is pretty cool, personally after being used to our garage we would never give it up.  Not even for all the storage space of the 179.

MY feeling is as long as DW is happy the DH can deal with anything. We had a 178G before and loved the Pod experience and the quality.
Good Luck and keep us posted
