I can't say we've really found a use for ours. Every time during travel it ends up in the floor by the time we reach our destination. Once we are at camp well, it gets put up the whole time so we can wash our hands.
I dunno, only thing I can say it does is looks nice when the Pod is clean after a trip and it's covered up!

Sink cover, yes. It should have come with a sink cover that doubles as a cutting board. Did you check all of your drawers, cabinets, and storage compartments? I'm not sure why it wouldn't be on the sink, but you never know.
If you already checked and you don't have it...call your dealer. You should have one.
