Black Mountain is NE GA. Black Bears Have been active everywhere because of the drought. We're accustomed to back packing in the SW and NW where bears are an issue and require attentiveness to food storage and the like. Thank heavens Black Bears are not aggressive like Brown Bears or Grizzlies.

Where is Black Mountain SP?  Watch out for bears at Oconee!!!Shocked

We are already booked into Black Mountain SP in September and Oconee SP (SC) in October. How about one of those? They both appear to be BEAUTIFUL!

Yuh we've had our Labor Day plans booked for over 9 months now.  Otherwise we'd love to make it to a gathering.

I'd like to also but, it is about 6 weeks too early for me.  I'll be headed South to the Smokys & then to Shenandoah mid October.  Plus, I made Labor Day reservations back in March.  Ouch

We want to do a round up for sure.. but already have reservations at Natchez Trace that weekend.
