I don't know why but it seems you can get into trouble making too much noise after 10:00 pm. Had a fun night cooking outside and visiting around campfire with new friends. Kansas City Irishfest was so much fun today too.

There are 5 families here. Really enjoy meeting and visiting with new families. Two from Missouri, two from Omaha and we are from Iowa. Everyone loves their pods. Taking some trips into town to the Irish pub and shopping in the fun shops.

We have been out 6 times so far this year, including a week in Lake McConaughy (very hot week) with the family unit. Had a lot of fun and still more camping weather left. See everyone there.

Time is getting close! We are still experiencing warm (not too hot) days, but the evenings and mornings have been quite nice. Looking forward to meeting all who can still make it!

Weston, the town, sits a bit back from the river since it changed course several years ago, It also mostly sits on a hill, except for the lower part of downtown. Should be OK. Weston Bend, the state park, also sits on a bluff. The lower part of the park, right on the river bank will be underwater I think, but the bluffs, main hiking/biking trails, and campground are well above the river and will be untouched.
It certainly is a mess along the river a little further north, and they are predicting the high water to reach here this weekend. In spite of all preparations, parts of Parkville, and other riverfront areas will be under water. It happens every few years, and people here are pretty well prepared.
