I encountered this same issue with our 177 after ownership of 10 years.  Firstly I used a heavy duty duct tape where the 'skids' were from the frozen rollers.  Secondly, I used a penetrant and used that to spray on each side of the roller until it was freed up.  It has now been 4 years and the duct tape has held up amazingly well, no signs of damage or wear have been observed.  However, the slide on a 177 is likely to be quite a bit lighter than your 190.

I think the tape solution would be too soft to work for more than one or two cycles. 

Putting the stainless steel could work, but I suspect you would have to remove the entire slide-out to do it properly.

Hi All...

I have a 2022 rPod 190 and one end of one slide out roller has gouged a wide shallow depression through the underside waterproof membrane and into the plywood and one other has also begun wearing down the membrane.  I have read on the forum that some have used duct or flexseal tape to do a repair, but this will also probably need periodic replacement.  


While I intend to keep a close eye on roller lubrication I also think uneven factory appliance slide loading or a slight roller angle might also be in play.  Therefore, I am considering make a permanent repair by screwing  a 8" wide x 20" long stainless steel sheet centered over each of the 3 rollers.  However, as the Schwintek gear rack bearing blocks are held in place vertically by the "H" column I am concerned that even a relatively tiny 1/32" (22 gauge) or 3/64"(18 gauge) increase in the slide height might cause the bearing block shoes to bind on the racks.


Anyone had such a binding issue with their slide roller contact area repairs or other repairs or have thoughts regarding potential binding issues?  It would seem to me that the eterna bond or flexseal tape repair would be at least 1/32" thick...
