so I hooked up the white to negative and red to positive. Volt meter reads at 13. But the lights still will not go on??? Checked fuses and converter, fuses ok and power to converter working. Any suggestions?

The red wire is your +12v connection. The white is your negative (neutral/chassis) connection. You won't find a black wire if that's what you're looking for. Rpods are wired per electric code standards, which only allow white to be used for neutral, like in your house. They are not wired using the automotive standard with black negative/chassis connection.

If youre getting a significant spark you might have some 12v load turned on in the trailer, or your charger might be operating ready to charge the battery, or your 7 way connector to the tow vehicle mmight be causing it. A small spark is normal. Remove the two 40 amp fuses in the panel, disconnect the 7 way, and shut off the breakers, then connect the battery. Put the fuses back and see if anything is turned on, then plug in to shore power, turn on the breaker, and see if the charger operates.

Should be findable, have you found it yet? Comes directly out of the converter so the red cable shouldn't be far away.
