Att Direct tv now is a cell service, and does not even use data. No wifi is needed, you just need a cell signal. You set up a hotspot from the phone, And connect to the firestick. It works awesome.

Will the hotspot work if WIFI is not available. Most of the time my iPhone is on 5G when we camp. I have chrome cast but could not get it to connect

Just get hot spot added to your phone. I use a fire stick and i create a hotspot. I can watch anything I want, I have like 60 or more channels, Hbo, starz, and cinemax. I also get prime, and full internet access to watch youtube, or some of those "other" type movies. I use att now at home as well. So one package follows you everywhere, home or away.

I can get DirecTV on my phone and tablet but cannot cast it to the TV without WiFi. I am going to look at WIFI for my Pod since I have it on my truck. This stuff is all fairly new to me.

I also use AT&T and always though the antenna was a waste.. Did look at replacing it with a Yagi at one point, yet never really even required that.. 

Now all my home and travel internet/TV/cell is from AT&T. 

I have debated mounting a Yagi at the house, yet again.. not required!

That might be part of it but what I saw specifically said they would eliminate SD broadcast on their satellite.

I use direct tv now. No dish, no nothing. It does require a hotspot to watch it on the pod t.v., but if you have a tablet, or phone it works on cell service

My KingQuest crashed. I need a new one but hearing all the talk about AT&T eliminating SD does anybody know if the King Quest will work if I have to change to a HD receiver? The one I have if the H24 which is not HD from what I understand.
