We put ours up the day we picked up the 177. I did the screw head checking and found a couple that needed to be seated.
I used CRC silicone from Lowe's in generous amounts. I had several friends there and they were al happy to give advice. LOL
Actually we had a lot of fun setting it up.
I did a couple of tweaks to the outside openings. I filled the sharp edges and used a screw driver to flair it slightly.  What a difference!
Take a marker to get the 3 rods that go out from the POD to save work the next install.
The forum has been a huge help for ideas and advice.

Hi Lee and Splante!!

Ok...I just got back from Home Depot with my silicone spray and a box of gloves, a 3 step ladder and a TON of patience!  I'm ready to tackle the r-dome! Excellent idea on the beverage!!!  Some Merlot is certainly in order to celebrate!!!

I would go for a three step ladder versus two.  I'm 5'2" and can put up the R-dome my myself, just need a little foot stool in height to extend out the pole for a better fit.  I have a two step which doubles as stairs to the upper bunk.  But I can't reach the c_rail from the two step, and just got a cover which I think I will need to upgrade my height to a 4 step (will know more this weekend).

If you will be camping on your return trip type "rv checklist for camping" in google and you'll have plenty of camping lists.

Also I would get a box of disposable gloves from a auto place they work real well, are heavy duty and are cheaper because your buying like a hundred at a time.

Oh! a nice beverageClown (ur choice, i prefer  wine) to Congratulate  yourself after a day a towing and setting up, and getting your r-pod.

Still a work in progress, lots of pictures.

Hi everyone....I'm making a list and checking twice cause I'm going to pick up our new RP-175 this coming Friday at CouchesRV in Ohio!!  WOOOO HOOOO...can't wait!!  So....I'm making a list of must haves for the trip...and silicone came to mind..and the ladder to put up the r-dome (being vertically challenged..haha).  Is there a brand that is better to use than others?  I did read that WD-40 is a no no....so I will steer clear of that.

If ya'll have any thoughts about the must have's for this trip...let me know!!!

Big smile  Biggggggggggggggggg smile!!!

Can't wait!!!
