We're talking about Forest River, and several different plants, and production lines, plus differences between east and west regions. My 2019 rpod 171 has a docking light with a plugged up switch cover.

The switch is just inside the door, near the floor.

The first pic is from under the cover so the ambient lighting and colors are kinda 'off' a bit.

The aftermarket light you see in the interior picture is one that I added, but the black switch was there when I bought the rpod and it controls the docking light.

What year? My 2015 179 has the switch on the light too. I would think that if they changed to a remote switch it would have been for all models at the same time, otherwise they would have to maintain stock of two work light SKU's.

On mine, the fixture has a rubber plug in the fixture, where the switch would be...the actual switch is near the door, near the floor.

It is probably the 'docking light' (also called a worklight)...look for the LED fixture on the front wall of the trailer, facing the batteries and trailer tongue.

Mine is a 2015. I will ask the previous owners if they know anything about it.

I have a 2015 178. There is no switch at floor level inside entrance door. Was it added?
