Topic: 7-pin Connector Posted: 14 Feb 2020 at 7:00pm |
Thank you very much for helping me out. I'm back up and running. For anyone with an Rpod similar to my 2010 175, Olddawgsrule's diagram matches my trailer (and truck). After 3 hours of crawling underneath, swapping wires, pulling my taillights, metering every possibility, it turns out that the replacement cable I bought from Amazon is in fact correct - color for color. Scraping my cable on the highway shorted out a fuse in my truck giving me all kinds of crazy inconsistencies on the meter. Once the 10amp fuse was replaced, I saw what a nice, perfect swap cable I had purchased. Here is the link for those who ever need to replace a 7-way cable. It's a Proline Power 7-Way Plug.

When I did wiring work on my trailer, the colors matched the etrailer pictures for a 7 way RV standard. Example - Yellow was the back-up light.

here's some references from etrailer. Use 7 pin RV standard in center.

The best and safest way is to use the old plug and test which wire color went to which plug socket on each of the 7 pins. Then check the new plug wires to match the right "old" colors on the trailer to the right corresponding "new" plug sockets.
This is provided the trailer wire colors are still connected to the trailer, and you still have the old connector to examine.
Good luck!

Hi folks. I have a 2010 Rpod 175. I unknowingly dragged the connector cable on the ground long enough to strip a few wires. I brilliantly ordered a new 7ft cable and connector. Then I brilliantly assumed that I could splice it into the junction box under my Rpod frame - COLOR for COLOR. Wrong! Now, only the turn signals work. Can someone furnish a diagram of what color wires on the chassis work what function? White, green, red, black/white, black, brown, etc. Then I could reshuffle the colors to match my truck (2000 GMC Sierra). Thanks a bunch.
