Reference Jato's June 23rd posting: Ditto on the Traverse City, MI R-pod Rally. The Rally hosted by Jato was much fun. As the only "out of state" people (Cincinnati, Ohio), my wife and I truly enjoyed meeting the other podders and found the travel most worthwhile. Much knowledge was gained about our trailers and RVing. There was plenty of time for day trips to Charlevoix and Petoskey. Swinging toward home, Holland and Saugatuck were enjoyable visits as well. Thanks again for Jato's effort and the friendliness, goodwill and familiarity shared by our group. "Dengle" (Dennis & Maryellen)

Many thanks to all of you who attended.  Great friendships were either started or renewed.  Much information was passed on as we toured each others pods and observing and taking notes of  modifications made. The campfire chats each evening made us all feel like 'family.'  And to top it all, the weather in northern Michigan during our stay was absolutely perfect.  We were all blessed.

The Traverse City, MI R-Pod Rally is a "GO.!!"  We will have a meet and greet supper on Thursday at 6 pm. Hot dogs and condiments will be provided, bring a dish to pass and byo drinks.  Please note that bathhouse and picnic pavilion will be closed.  HOWEVER each campsite is provided with potable water, electric, and sewer hookup.  If you haven't already signed up call Holiday Campground at 231-943-4410.  If you care to participate we will also have a gift exchange (limit $ 10).  Bring something you have made or indigenous of the area you come from.  Hope to see you there.

Marv and Kathy, thanks for letting us know.  We don't know at this point whether or not it will be a go; much depends on the directives out of Lansing.  We are still planning that it will be a go, rather be ready and cancel verses not planning on having it and then finding out at the last minute we can have the event.  Regardless, you will be missed.  Have a great summer, enjoy your family, each other, and your friends during these uncertain times.

After some careful and I hope thoughtful deliberation, my wife and I have cancelled our reservation at Holiday Park and will not be attending the June 18-21 Traverse City R-Pod Roundup.  We loved the park and enjoyed visiting w/ other Pod owners the last time everyone gathered there but are just not ready yet.  Strictly a personal decision.  Thanks for organizing the event.  We were scheduled to be at site 164.

Spoke with the owner of Holiday Campground in Traverse City yesterday.  Their plan is to open, unless the governor plans to keep all campgrounds closed.  Also note, IF they are open there will be NO BATHHOUSE facilities.  However each campsite in the campground has full hookups including electricity, water, and sewer.  Planned open day is June 12, when the governor's stay at home order terminates.

Just got off the phone with the fine folks at Holiday Campground.  They are hopeful and plan on opening their campground by mid-May so at this point we will continue to plan on holding our R-Pod round-up in Traverse City on the same days.  Thank you for asking.
