Rdome was better than expected. Still limits number of sites that can be used if dome is to be used. Would not want to take it down in rain or wet.would only use for a stay of at least a week. Was not an issue during this trip to to the Blue ridge Pkwy.

Ps-will review the forum for an easy alternative awning for shorter stays.Towing with f150 was good.Did not use weight distribution or sway bar.

a wet dome is an unhappy dome.  there have a been a few times we'll take ours home wet and lay it out in the driveway to fully dry before rolling it back up.

glad it was better than you expected though.  a lot of us would not be caught camping without our domes up.

Yeah, I was surprised to learn that some campsite establishments consider the R-dome a 2nd habitation and therefore want to charge for another spot. Unhappy I'm pretty sure Texas State parks allow pitching a tent within an RV camp spot.

no kidding?  wow i'd have to get rather upset about someone telling me that.  it connects to my Pod just like an awning does.

Interesting. Flip side...

We spent a week @ Pfeiffer Big Sur State park this past summer. Nice big site. $35.00/night - expensive for no hookups, but it is California.

We had the R-Pod with the dome up all week and our traveling companions parked their Roadtrek in the same site for four nights. They did charge us an extra $10 per night for the Roadtrek, but I thought that was reasonable.

Yes, the info was from a forum poster, but I have reviewed so much information over the last 5 days that I can't remember who it was and I can't find the post. It will probably pop up again somewhere.

In 3 years of camping we've never had anyone want to charge us extra for the dome.... If that were to happen like Travis I'd be very very upset and might have to be told to leave the camp ground.

Looking back I may have misunderstood "not allowing" and misconstrued it to mean wanting to charge. It looks like it is pretty well established that some campgrounds won't allow its use as with no tents and no shade EZ ups etc...please accept my apologies for causing a ruckus.
