Marwayne has been a great help guiding me through the nail-biting process of building a hanging cabinet over the dinette in my 177.  Nail-biting because I am always fearful of drilling through power lines.  In any case, he built his beautiful cabinets in his 172, which has a great anchor point on the microwave cabinet.  On the 177 with the slide, the cabinet has to hang in air.  I modifying Marwayne's plans, thinking that a 1/2" cable and bottom might be too heavy for my sky hook situation.  I was wrong, but I did come up with a variation (see the picture).  I mounted the bottom of the cabinet today.  The darn thing is as solid as a rock.  I wouldn't have made a difference had I used 1/2" oak plywood instead of 1/4".  Now, all I have to do is get the curve on the front correct.  That's been a struggle because I am not the woodworker of Marwayne's caliber, but I am giving it a try.  More pictures once I get the cabinet stained, the door cut and reinforced, and up.

Looks strong and you are making progress. The completed cabinet will look nice and it will be great to have the added storage space. Your next cabinet will be easier. Smile

It does look strong, headcold. And kudos to you for taking on such an ambitious project. The hardest part is starting! Can't wait to see the finish.
