Hi, we just received our R-Pod 190 and there is water and condensation in between the layers. Is this windshield supposed to be sealed? The condensate blocks most of our vision out.

Is this brand new? If so, check with your dealer. We do not have a front window in ours, but it certainly does not sound normal to me.

Normally there is a gas (Argon I think) between layers that keeps it from fogging or getting condensation. I'd say your seal has ruptured.

I don’t have a front window either but from other postings of broken ones I thought the front windows were single pane tempered glass? Already they making them double pane insulated glass units now? If so, that’s going to be an even worse breakage issue, I’d want to cover mine while in the road.

I'll call the dealer today and see about getting it replaced. Do they make covers for these?

Last I checked they do not have a cover for the window.  There have been member mods whereby they used velcro and put a 'shield' over the window to protect from rocks flinging up from the rear tires.  Unfortunately that doesn't completely remedy the issue.  Even with the shield in place there have been reports of the window breaking apparently due to the stress of twisting and torque on the frame as it is towed down the road.

I remember my parents 1964 Shasta had a front window and also had a plastic shield that protected it as they traveled.  Never had a breakage problem with that.  FR engineers need to find those Shasta engineers from the 1960's and find a solution to this ever growing issue.

Best solution: Stop putting in a big front window, especially if it's over the bed. I hate front window, and will not by another pod, or any model, that has one.

I find it interesting that on our 177, which has the window over the bed, has never been problematic.  It would seem like if they used the same type of glass and frame, and surrounded it with a similar rubber boot like they do on the rear side of the pod, why wouldn't it work on the front side?  Something is obviously different.  Unfortunately I have not seen one of these up close and personal to make an educated guess as to why there have been so many problems.

The window is the main reason we waited for a later model. LOL hopefully that doesn't come back to bite us.😬

Hey, everyone has their own likes/dislikes. I think besides breaking, the front widow will be a leak source, let cold right into the bed area, and allow light in while sleeping. Honestly, even the rear is bad enough, but I can take that one, I just don't want to be in a fishbowl either.
