Not sure why you don't like your rDome. It is reason I bought the rPod as more than doubles living space. Sure it takes 15 minutes to set up and tear down, but the benefits are endless. If you spend anytime outdoors, like we do, it becomes your outdoor living room. We don't enjoy being cooped up inside tindy camper. It is so versatile. We put dinette table under Dome when setting up, as affords much larger space inside that way.
1. Can have all flaps up for clear view and much larger sun awning than other options
2. If buggy, can zip down screens and attach screen skirt on lower edge of camper
3. If rainy, cold, windy, you can zip down all sides and keep all your stuff dry. Plus in this mode, it creates a deterrent to any interest when away from Camp. Also becomes playpen for pets or kids.
Two weeks ago, we experienced 7 inches of rain in the Catskills. Yet we stayed dry and were able to be outside still under Dome. Anyone else with a traditional awning, had all their stuff get wet and were locked inside their camper as it rained all day. I have even cooled or heated Dome, by leaving Pod door open, to take edge off when really hot or cold. Plus you don't get wet stepping out the door of pod. It is a fantastic way to expand your living space by 94 sq feet.
